Yleana Hurtdao (Mexico City, 1982)

Yleana Hurtado (1982) studied Fabric Design at Universidad Iberoamericana  with a specialization in Visual Arts and Photography. Her background as a textile designer is reflected in her work.  It was not until 2012 that she decided to start her practice as an artist.

The starting point of her work are factories, production and man-made structures, taking into consideration the environmental impact generated in the processes. She explores and examines land, landscapes and geography revolving around them as well.

In 2011 she creates June Joon Jaxx, an online platform featuring content on contemporary art, including studio visits and interviews with artists.
